Our Mission

To cultivate a sustainable community garden that upholds biodiversity, grows nourishing food and plants, and allows a space for our students and community members to collaborate and contribute.

History of the garden

Loyola Academy held space at 3434 Illinois for a community garden for a year or so and in 2024 they received permission to start construction. As of 2025, there is a clear blueprint, 26 beds with mulch planted over the winter, and a few beds with garlic ready to be harvested. Meet the team below to see what is coming next!
